Types of Loft conversions we offer
Velux

Velux windows are installed to fit flush with the line of the roof and as a result leaves existing roof structure untouched, which keeps the cost down, Velux are more suited to lofts which have a good amount of headroom or if there are constraints on planning. Velux windows can let in a great amount of light due to the angle they are set and will brighten up a room.
Dormer
Dormer extensions is an extension off an existing roof which allows extra room space and headroom, Dormer protrude from the roof slope, generally at the rear of the property and can be built in a variety of styles. There are different types of dormer which are
Gable fronted dormer -
Hipped Roof Dormer – This is a dormer with a hipped roof
Flat Roof Dormer – Dormer with a flat roof
Shed dormer – a single pitched roof
Â
Mansard
Mansard roof has two slopes, one lower slope is close to vertical at 72 degrees and the second section of the roof is almost horizontal. This roof has the advantage of maximising the space in your loft. Mansard roofs are built by raising the gable walls either side of your house to make the profile for the mansard and then erecting a timer frame.
Â
Hip to Gable
A Hip to gable conversion is a large job which involves major roof work. The gable wall is built to the ridge line and whole new section of the roof is built, once the roof is has been extended the conversion would be finish off with velux or a dormer.
